DANVILLE, Va. ā Search warrants reveal new information about Danville's latest homicide.
One search warrant reveals that investigators collected two shell casings, car keys, a wallet and its contents, four latent fingerprints and a cash register drawer from inside the Joy Food Store.
Store owner Tahir Mahmud, 54, was found shot to death behind the counter September 12.
A second warrant says investigators believe the homicide is the result of a robbery.
It also says investigators called in a locksmith to open a safe under the cash register to determine how much money was stolen from the store.
