Cody: 30 Days of Hope

Cody has a loving heart and a fantastic sense of humor.

There are more than 700 children who are ready for adoption in Virginia. They are ready to find a permanent and loving forever family. 10 News is profiling one child who needs a home every day during the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. in 30 Days of Hope. The children are all ages and races and were put into foster care due to no fault of their own. 2022 marks the sixth year 10 News is doing this series.

A bit of an ‘old soul,’ Cody is a mix of quiet and silly.

“If I had a superpower, I’d be the fastest person in the world,” the 10-year-old said.

He loves a wide-open setting and can bond over learning the country way of life.

Friends describe him as silly, serious and funny. Cody is not one to sit and watch an entire movie or TV show and he loves being with others.

“Playing with my friends and playing video games, Minecraft, space games, Lego games, Fortnite, shooting games, whatever,” he said.

Cody is very good at board and card games too and loves to play them. You will definitely need to keep up with his competitive nature, as Cody is a natural winner at whatever game he plays.

“I am really good at playing football. I’m really good at listening,” said Cody. “I like to play outside, watch football, watch baseball, catch bugs and I like to go on hikes. I like to ride my bike and I like to sit on the couch and watch TV.”

He describes his perfect day as “A day at the beach. I would swim, I would try to search for a shark on a boat. I would jet ski and then try to find the titanic that sunk. Has it already been found?”

Cody has a loving heart and a fantastic sense of humor. He has enjoyed interacting with horses and gets along great with pets, especially dogs.
