30 Days of Hope 2022: Raising awareness for adoption, fostering in Virginia

In Virginia, kids are in crisis and put into foster care due to no fault of their own. But they have an advocate. 10 News Anchor Jenna Zibton works tirelessly all year long investigating the challenges the foster care system faces and revealing the solutions so all of us can help. You’ve seen the stories during the WSLS 10 Kids in Crisis series and 30 Days of Hope, where we profile one child who needs a home every day during the month of November.

30 Days of Hope leads to more than 600 families interested in foster care, adoption

We showed you the stories of 35 children in November, just some of the more than 700 who can be adopted.

He enjoys Vietnamese food and culture and it’s something he would like to keep.

Virginia teens in foster care share what they want others to know

Lilly has been in foster care since she was 6 years old, and what she wants more than anything is to find a forever family to call her own.

The 17-year-old wants a family to call her own and help her reach her full potential.

U.S. Marshals Operation Results in Recovery of 27 Missing Children in Virginia

The Justice Department today announced the completion of a five-day law enforcement effort, dubbed “Operation Find Our Children,” throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia that resulted in the recovery of 27 previously missing children. Marshals Service has recovered more than 2,000 missing children. Over the past five years, the agency has recovered missing children in 75 percent of the cases it has received. “While this Virginia operation is the most recent recovery of endangered and missing children led by the U.S. “Missing children are extremely vulnerable to being trafficked for sex and are at risk of further emotional and physical harm.
