Roanoke County crash leaves one hospitalized

ROANOKE COUNTY, Va.UPDATE

One person was sent to the hospital after the crash on Bent Mountain Road Monday, according to Roanoke County Police.

The crash happened in the 11000 block of Bent Mountain Road when a 1999 Dodge Ram 3500 hit a 1999 truck, according to police.

Authorities said the driver of the Dodge was not wearing a seatbelt and was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck was wearing a seatbelt and was not hurt in the crash, police said.

According to RCPD, speed may have been a factor in the crash and charges are pending.

Bent Mountain Road was closed to traffic for several hours, but has since been reopened, authorities said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Roanoke County Fire & Rescue Department posted to Facebook that Life-Guard responded to the scene, which you can see in the video below.

Northbound and southbound lanes of Bent Mountain Road at Clover Hill Road are closed due to a crash, according to Roanoke County officials.

We’re told there is no estimate on when the road will reopen to traffic.

Officials say that Roanoke County Police as well as fire and rescue crews are on the scene.

No word yet on any injuries.
