One dead after Northwest Roanoke shooting

ROANOKE, Va. – The Roanoke Police Department is investigating after a person was shot and killed in Northwest Roanoke Wednesday night.

At about 7:40 p.m., police were dispatched to Harrison Ave NW and 5th Street NW for a shots fired call.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a male victim who had been critically injured from a shooting. He later died from his injuries, according to Roanoke Police. Police have not yet identified the victim of this shooting.

No suspects were located on scene and no arrests have been made at this time.

Details on what led up to the shooting weren’t immediately clear. 10 News has reached out to Roanoke Police for more information.
