A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Danville on Tuesday, according to the Danville Police Department.

The Danville Police Department is investigating a homicide after a man was found dead at Woodside Village apartments.

Danville officials want to hear from its residents to improve travel on one of the city’s busiest roads.

DANVILLE, Va. – A kitchen fire early Saturday morning leaves seven people without a place to live in Danville. It happened around 2:30 a.m. at the Woodside Village complex on Piney Forest Road. DANVILLE, Va. A woman is dead after police say she was in a car crash in Danville on Thursday morning. Authorities say the crash happened around 7:35 a.m. in the 1000 block of Piney Forest Road when Wilda Clear, 65, pulled into the southbound lanes of Piney Forest Road in her white 2001 Honda Civic. According to police, she was then hit on the drivers side by a 2017 silver Honda Accord. The driver of the Honda Accord reportedly suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. Police say the crash is still under investigation.

DANVILLE, Va. – 30-year-old Bobby Collins died Friday evening after the motorcycle he was driving crashed. According to police, witnesses say they saw a motorcycle and Chevrolet Camaro traveling north on Piney Forest Road at a high rate of speed. The crash happened at about 7 p.m. on North Main Street near the Squire Armory. Police say evidence at the scene indicated the bike hit a curb and the driver was ejected. Collins was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died from his injuries.

DANVILLE, Va. - Danville police are investigating a crash that killed a 26-year-old Pittsylvania County woman earlier this week. At midnight Sunday, police and EMS personnel responded to a 911 call for a single-vehicle crash in the 1100 block of Piney Forest Road, according to the Danville Police Department. The driver and passenger were taken by ambulance to SOVAH Health in Danville and later to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Investigators and crime scene personnel examined the scene and conducted witness interviews. Police determined that a Chevrolet Sonic was traveling south on Piney Forest Road when it hit a utility pole.

DANVILLE –Two men were hospitalized after a Danville shooting. According to the Danville Police Department, officers were called to the 1300 block of Piney Forest Road around 4:30 p.m. Saturday for reports of gunshots in the area. When officers arrived on scene, they found two men who had been shot. Both men were taken to Sovah Health and are expected to recover. No arrests have been made.
