A tractor-trailer accident is causing a traffic issue on Route 220 in Roanoke County Tuesday morning.

One southbound lane is closed from the 7700 block to the 7800 block of Route 220, which is close to Route 677 (Willow Branch Rd.) and the Lighthouse Church of the Brethren in the Boones Mill area.

No one was hurt and there were no other vehicles involved in the crash, which happened around 11:35 p.m. Monday. The driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to police.

Roanoke County police say drugs, alcohol, and/or weather were not factors in the crash. They have not officially released a cause for the wreck at this time.

The lanes will remain closed until the tractor-trailer can be removed. Police have not given an estimate on how long they expect that to take.
