Minor league baseball teams in Southwest Virginia prepare for spring season
ROANOKE, Va. – After having the 2020 season canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, minor league baseball teams across Southwest Virginia are gearing up for what could be the busiest season yet. The Salem Red Sox are slated to play 60 games this season. The team has to follow directions from the governor’s office and major league baseball which is only allowing 25% capacity right now. Danville Baseball Club introduces Danville Otterbots as new team name
DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Baseball Club has selected an official identity to introduce a new era of baseball after receiving hundreds of name suggestions. The “Danville Otterbots” will bring in a new era of baseball to the American Legion Post 325 Field starting this summer, according to a press release. The name selection comes after a two-week name the team community submission contest that received over 600 team name suggestions.
