Two standouts for quarterback through nine practices at Virginia Tech
There’s been an awful lot learned about the new Virginia Tech squad during spring practice. But a position group we haven’t heard a lot about is the quarterbacks. Quarterback coach Brad Glenn said the room started with six, now been narrowed down to about four, with South Carolina transfer Jason Brown and Marshall transfer Grant Wells leading the way through nine practices.

Marks lifts Buffalo to 17-10 Camellia Bowl win over Marshall
Marks scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 1:09 left after a clock-eating drive and Buffalo made a final defensive stop to beat Marshall 17-10 in the Camellia Bowl on Friday. Subbing for the national leader in rushing yards per game, Jaret Patterson, Marks carried 35 time for 138 yards for the Bulls (6-1) against one of the nation's top run defenses. Grant Wells then took Marshall (7-3), which had rallied from a 10-0 deficit, to the Buffalo 20 with no timeouts. Like Buffalo, Marshall wasn't at full strength. Buffalo: Patterson and Vantrease are only juniors so Buffalo could get them back for another season.
