Elliston man believed to have taken part in U.S. Capitol riot goes before federal judge

Jeremy Groseclose was arrested at his home in eastern Montgomery County on Feb. 25 after someone in the community turned him in. Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia agreed with the initial bond release approved by Magistrate Judge Robert Ballou in Roanoke the day he was arrested. AdGrosecloseโs attorney also said the equipment was purchased after the incident at the Capitol is and is unrelated. Faruqui did not object and instructed Groseclose to work with the FBI on that request.

Pictures at the Capitol helped authorities track Jeremy Groseclose down. He went before a judge in Roanokeโs federal court shortly after his arrest and was released on a $20,000 bond. In federal court filings, investigators say he came on the radar after two people submitted tips to the online tip portal. AdThe complaint went on to say Groseclose was inside the Capitol for more than two hours. His case will be transferred to D.C. Federal Court to be tried with the others.
