The Centers for Disease Control just published new research that shows that wearing a multi-layer cloth mask can block even small droplets that could contain COVID-19. An expert from Carilion Clinic said that this is an important message everyone should hear. And people just need to wear their mask so we can further control the COVID-19 pandemic," said Dr. Paul Skolnik, the chair of medicine for Carilion Clinic. Mask wearing could also prevent future lockdowns, so the CDC is recommending widespread community use.

– American Airlines has banned a man who was kicked off a plane for refusing to wear a face covering, among the first such incidents since airlines promised this week to step up enforcement of their mask rules. According to the airline, conservative activist Brandon Straka ignored requests by crew members to wear a mask while the plane with 122 passengers prepared to leave for Dallas-Fort Worth. American said Straka will be banned until the airline drops its requirement that passengers and crew members wear face coverings to limit spread of the virus that causes COVID-19. In another video that he posted on Twitter after being banished to the gate area, he said there is no law requiring passengers to wear a mask. American and other leading U.S. airlines announced the mask rules last month.

Ralph Northam announced the requirement, which went into effect May 29, during Tuesday’s coronavirus update. The health department’s interactive map]Masks are required:Everyone ages 10 and upInside all brick and mortar retail establishments. Enforcement of these requirements will be done through the Virginia Department of Health, rather than law enforcement agencies. The governor’s chief of staff, Clark Mercer, said that enforcement is designed for business that are grossly negligent of these requirements.
