3 detained after workers report being shot at in Roanoke County
ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. โ Authorities detained two adults and one juvenile on Tuesday afternoon in connection with shots being fired on Buck Mountain Road. At about 3 p.m., contract workers at Faith Christian School reported being shot at, according to the Roanoke County Police Department. Within 15 minutes of receiving the call, officers had responded and detained the three individuals. On Tuesday night, police announced that the two adults were charged with attempted unlawful wounding, contributing, trespassing, and discharging a pneumatic gun. Officers recovered an air rifle at the scene, according to police.
Roanoke Rising Stars prep for year two of operation
ROANOKE, Va. - The NBA and college basketball seasons are right around the corner, and the same can be said for the Roanoke Rising Stars. The team is preparing for year two of operations in the American Basketball Association. "Just the opportunity to play the game and give back to a few of the guys that are on here. We made it to second round of the playoffs and of course we want to get one or two games better," said head coach Eric Walker. The season-opener for the Rising Stars will be Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at Faith Christian School in Roanoke as they host the Hub City Hogs.
