CVS calls Roanoke man for first COVID vaccine dose, doesnโt guarantee his second dose
Despite falling into the age group for Phase 1b, he was placed on the waiting list through his local health department. โI was sitting at home last Wednesday and I got a phone call from CVS Pharmacy,โ explained Guilliams. โThe lady says, โWeโve got a COVID vaccine available, are you free to come in?โ I said, โYeah!โโAfter arriving at CVS, he was given the Moderna vaccine but wasnโt scheduled for a second dose. (When you book online you must book both first and second doses - similar to booking a round trip airline ticket). Guilliams fears this process will exceed the four-week window between first and second dose.

For the three months ended June 30, CVS earned $2.99 billion, or $2.26 per share. Adjusted for one-time gains and costs, earnings were $2.64 per share. CVS said Wednesday that the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in lower benefit costs due to the deferral of elective procedures and other discretionary use of its health care benefits segment.

CVS pulls Zantac, similar drugs over cancer worries
Drew Angerer/Getty Images(CNN) - CVS Pharmacy has stopped selling Zantac, as well as its generic version of the heartburn medication, over concerns that they might contain a substance that could cause cancer. CVS, the largest pharmacy chain in the country, said over the weekend it was suspending sale of Zantac and other products which contain ranitidine until further notice. Zantac and its generic counterpart have not been recalled, a statement from CVS said, and the FDA has not recommended that patients stop taking ranitidine products. Numerous recalls have been launched as the FDA found "unacceptable levels" of nitrosamines in several of those common drugs containing valsartan. Customers who have already bought the products can return them to CVS for a refund, CVS said.
