Virginia Tech hires Penn State DC Pry as next head coach
Virginia Tech hired Penn State defensive coordinator and former Bud Foster disciple Brent Pry as its next head coach. The school made the announcement Tuesday, saying Pry will be introduced Thursday. Pry has been with Penn State since 2014, first as co-defensive coordinator before becoming the defensive coordinator in 2016.

Spanier reported to Centre County Correctional Facility, several miles from the Penn State campus, on Monday morning, the warden, Christopher Schell, said Thursday. A judge upheld Spanier’s sentence last month and ordered him to begin serving at least two months in the county jail by July 9 for a single misdemeanor conviction of endangering the welfare of children.

Heart condition forces Penn St. RB Brown to give up football
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Penn State running back Journey Brown says he has a heart condition that is forcing him to give up football. Penn State coach James Franklin told reporters Brown’s condition was not COVID-19 related, but it was discovered in September during “a routine COVID test.”“It’s heartbreaking,” Franklin told reporters. Neither Penn State nor Brown have indicated whether he tested positive for COVID-19, but the Big Ten requires cardiac screening and testing of those athletes who do before they can return to competition. Brown was Penn State’s leading rusher in 2019 and was expected to be one of the best backs in the country in 2020. Penn State is off to an 0-3 start and heading to Nebraska on Saturday.

Penn State coach Pat Chambers resigns after investigation
Pat Chambers resigned as Penn State's basketball coach Wednesday following an internal investigation by the school into allegations of inappropriate conduct. Chambers, 49, had been at Penn State for nine years and was coming off the team’s best season under his directions. Chambers was in the middle of a four-year contract with Penn State that runs through 2021-22 season. He was 148-150 with Penn State, including an NIT championship in 2018. “Coach Chambers has made many contributions to the program and to this university for which we are grateful,” Barbour said.

Penn State student reports being assaulted by 4 fraternity brothers
A student has reported an alleged sexual assault by four Penn State fraternity brothers, university police said Tuesday. "The unknown victim, reported to be a student, disclosed to a third party being sexually assaulted by four unidentified fraternity brothers," the alert said. Police didn't immediately elaborate on the alleged incident, but the frat's national media spokesperson issued a statement saying they are fully cooperating with local authorities. "Obviously, the alleged incident is absolutely antithetical to our fraternity's ideals and values," Jon Pierce said. Penn State has a website outlining resources for victims of sexual assault and tips for staying safe on campus.
