Authorities said Amanda Lewis, 40, of Danville was driving the Mazda and was taken to SOVA Health in Danville. Authorities said a six-year-old girl was in a car seat in the Mazda and was taken to the same hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The six-year-old girl was in the Mazda, not the Chevy.

A man is dead after an alcohol-related crash in Pittsylvania County over the weekend, according to Virginia State Police. Ronald David, 62, of Penhook was driving the Chevy and was taken to Gretna Medical Center, where police said he later died. Police said Amy Slate, 45, of Naruna was hurt in the crash and was taken to Gretna Medical Center. According to State Police, alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and no charges are pending. The crash is still under investigation.

MARTINSVILLE, Va. – The Martinsville Police Department is searching for an 18-year-old man it believes shot at a car Sunday afternoon, hitting the driver. At 4:45 p.m., on Starling Avenue at the intersection of Wilson Street, Nyzah Antonio Bradley shot at a blue Chevy Camaro, hitting the driver in the leg, according to the Martinsville Police Department. The driver was then taken to Sovah Health in Martinsville and later released. Warrants have been issued for Bradley on the charges of malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied vehicle, using a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless handling of a firearm and discharging a firearm in the city. ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. – A 26-year-old Roanoke man died in a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon. Ryan Alouf was driving a Suzuki motorcycle north on Electric Road when he ran the red light at Elm View Road and hit a Chevy SUV entering the intersection, according to police. A 1990 Ford Tempo was headed south on Route 29 Business when it crossed the center line into the northbound lanes. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. - One person is dead and another is hurt after a single-vehicle crash in Montgomery County. On Monday around 8:15 a.m., deputies responded to a crash in the 5700 block of Riner Road (Route 8). A Chevy truck ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree. The passenger, Jason Paul, 45, of Radford, was extracted from the truck, taken to New River Valley Medical Center and pronounced dead. The crash is still under investigation and charges are pending.
