The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is asking hunters from Virginia to help them in their efforts to monitor the spread of chronic wasting disease (CWD) in the deer population.

The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries is conducting mandatory Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) sampling on Saturday. CWD is a fatal neurological disease that affects deer. On Saturday, there are two “disease management” areas.
