Man arrested in connection to bomb threat at Galax nursing home
Jason Hill has been arrested in connection with a bomb threat at a nursing homeGALAX. Va. – A man in Galax is wanted for threatening to bomb a nursing home Monday evening, according to the Galax Police Department. At about 5:05 p.m., the Galax Police Department received a call from the Galax Health and Rehabilitation Center located on 836 Glendale Road. Galax Police responded to the scene and secured the area with Galax Fire and Rescue on standby in a nearby area. Hill was released by Twin County Hospital just after midnight on Tuesday and was taken into custody, police said.
Police asking for information after second bomb threat at South Boston business this year
SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Authorities are looking to find the person responsible for calling in two fake bomb threats on Wednesday. At about 8:40 a.m., Integrated Textile Solutions on Parker Avenue in South Boston received two calls indicating that there was a bomb in the building. The company evacuated its employees for about four hours while the South Boston Police Department and two K-9 Virginia State Police officers searched the building. Back on January 11, someone called in a bomb threat at the same building. SOUTH BOSTON, Va. – Authorities found no explosives or suspicious items at a South Boston business after someone called in a bomb threat there Monday morning. The call came in at about 11:30 a.m. with a report of a bomb at Integrated Textile Solutions on Parker Avenue in South Boston. The South Boston Police Department, joined by Virginia State Police and deputies from the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the business shortly after. On-site managers evacuated all employees and authorities were at the business for about two hours, using explosive-sniffing dogs to check the building.
