Showers and a few rumbles of thunder are back in the region this morning! As of 6:30 AM, we are starting to see parts of the NRV and Lynchburg Zones drying out, but the widespread showers now affecting Roanoke, Highlands, and Southside Zones, along with eastern parts of the NRV.

Yesterday we had a record-breaking high temperature! We hit 91 degrees and broke a previously set record of 88 degrees in 2024.

Freeze warnings are in effect across Southwest and Central Virginia, with overnight lows dipping into the 20s and 30s before a big warmup brings 70s and 80s by the weekend, according to 10 News meteorologist Edward Shaw.

Your out-the-door forecast this morning is much better than yesterday! We are about 10 degrees above where we sat yesterday, with just a few clouds passing through the region. It will be a great day for any outdoor plans

This morning, showers have overtaken the area with heavier bands of rain now moving into parts of the NRV and Southside Zones. Don’t forget the umbrella this morning!

Expect some bucket fillers and gutter flushers this week!
