Local ministry hosting fundraiser to help 6 year old who lost feet in tragic accident
Family and friends in Roanoke are breathing a sigh of relief now that a young girl involved in a freak accident is home.The community is pitching in to help by raising money for her medical bills.Six-year-old Aubrey Scaletta had been at Carilion after she lost her feet in a freak accident. Doctors reattached them.Empty Tomb Motorcycle Ministry is hosting a ride where anyone can join. Itโs happening July 8th at Exalted Ministries. The ride begins on Williamson Road in Roanoke and continues to Radford University.
Wakeboarding accident reportedly led to death near Smith Mountain Lake
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. โ A Franklin County official has confirmed that someone died near Smith Mountain Lake on Saturday. The countyโs public safety director, Billy Ferguson, said that the fatality happened near the area of Belle Isle Road and believes it was a wakeboarding accident. Lanes close due to accident on I-81 in Montgomery County
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Va. โ A tractor-trailer accident near mile marker 124 on I-81 north in Montgomery County causes major backups Sunday evening. According to VDOT, the right lane is back open. The left is currently closed. Backups are about 6 miles. Traffic is being detoured off at exit 118C and onto U.S. 460 to relieve congestion.
