Law enforcement is searching for a man following a stolen vehicle stop that led the suspect to flee on foot, Lynchburg Police Department said.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help identifying two people in connection to a recent armed robbery. RUSTBURG, Va. A woman has died after being hit by a car on Timberlake Road in Rustburg late Saturday night, according to Virginia State Police. The driver remained at the scene and the woman was taken to the Lynchburg General Hospital where she later died. The crash remains under investigation. Police are working to notify the next of kin

ROANOKE, Va. Part of Timberlake Road in Lynchburg will be down to one lane in each direction today through Friday. Giles County School will hold drive-thru Kindergarten registration. The Roanoke County School Board could vote on its reopening plan today. The plan calls for Pre-Kindergarten through second graders to report to school daily. The Virginia High School League Executive Committee will meet today.

Many residents in the Lynchburg area were without power Friday night in the Wards Road, Timberlake Road and Graves Mill Road area. As of 11:28 p.m., there were 473 without power in Lynchburg, according to Appalachian Power. At one point, there were 3,750 without power. Affected areas were given an approximate restoration time of 4:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Chick-fil-A submitted plans to build its 5th Lynchburg restaurant location on Timberlake Road across from Kroger. A 24/7 drive-thru Sheetz is set to open across from BB&T and Bojangles'. Thomas Builders is also planning a retail development featuring two 6,600 square foot multi-use commercial buildings. Construction started about two weeks ago, however it’s not clear when everything will be completed.

LYNCHBURG, Va. - A man walked into Lowe's, filled a cart with items and left without paying for them, according to Lynchburg police. Police say it happened Sept. 23 at 3:41 p.m. at the Lowe's on Timberlake Road in Lynchburg. The suspect is a white male with long black or brown shoulder-length hair and tattoos on his left arm. He was driving a blue late '80s or early '90s Toyota four-door sedan. LYNCHBURG, Va. - Police in Lynchburg are investigating a theft from Lowe's on Timberlake Road. On July 18, a man put a Craftsman inverter generator in his cart and left the store without paying around 7:45 p.m. He then put the inverter in a U-Haul truck and left. LYNCHBURG, Va. - Lynchburg police say a man used stolen credit cards to buy gift cards at two Kroger stores in the city. Authorities say the stores are located on Wards Road and Timberlake Road. On Monday, the man reportedly used stolen credit cards to purchase gift cards. He was last seen in a blue button-down shirt and black dress pants, driving a dark-colored hatchback vehicle.
