Authorities said crews were dispatched to the 100 block of 8th Street SE at 10:37 a.m.Crews on scene told 10 News that the house is abandoned. Crews respond to crash involving fuel tanker leak in Pittsylvania County
GRETNA, Va. โ Several local agencies sent crews to help with a crash in Gretna on Thursday morning involving a fuel spill from a tanker tractor-trailer. Crews said they arrived to find a fuel tanker tractor-trailer crashed on its side with a fuel leak and partially blocking the road. Several other crews were dispatched to help with the fuel leak, including the Regional Hazardous Materials Team from the Danville Fire Department. Members of our regional Hazardous Materials team are on scene in Pittsylvania County for an overturned tanker. Fuel is being transferred to a separate fuel tanker on site.
Crews fighting wildfire in Boones Mill
BOONES MILL, Va. โ Crews are on the scene of a fire in Boones Mill working to contain the blaze. The first call came in after 12:15 Sunday afternoon for a woods fire off Dillionโs Mill Road. Crews could only get to the first on foot and ATVs. Multiple crews from other localities and the Virginia Department of Forestry were called in. It took about two and half hours to get the fire under control.
