Authorities are searching for a man they say tried to steal an ATV from a Bedford County homeAuthorities in Bedford County are searching for a “very short” man who they say tried to steal an ATV on Saturday. According to the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, a mustached man who “had a hard time seeing over the steering wheel” and looked to be around 20 years old tried to steal a Kawasaki ATV from a home on Crab Orchard Road. The owner was able to catch the suspect red-handed before he ran off, leaving the ATV behind, deputies said. Authorities said the suspect was driving what looked to be an extended cab Ford F-150 with a small white enclosed trailer. Anyone with information is asked to call Central Virginia Crime Stoppers at 1-888-798-5900.

RICHMOND, Va. – Bhagavan “Doc" Antle from Netflix’s Tiger King and a Virginia animal park owner have been indicted for trafficking lion cubs and animal cruelty, according to the Attorney General Mark Herring’s office. Investigators say that the men trafficked lion cubs back and forth in between Virginia and South Carolina. Wilson has been charged with one felony count of wildlife trafficking, one felony count of conspiracy to wildlife traffic, four misdemeanor counts of violating the Endangered Species Act, four misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act, and nine misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. Antle has been charged with one felony count of wildlife trafficking, one felony count of conspiracy to wildlife traffic, four misdemeanor counts of conspiracy to violate the Endangered Species Act, and nine misdemeanor counts of animal cruelty. BEDFORD COUNTY, VA. – UPDATERoanoke County police said they arrested four more people in connection with this incident: Angelique Glovier, Steven Moses, Robin Nester and Joshua Dodson. Both the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office and Roanoke County Police Department are on this case. Bedford County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Christian Edmondson has worked on the case, and while she’s worked robberies and abductions before, she’s never worked anything like this. The victim told police the suspects then returned back and wanted more from him. “You know he was beaten in Roanoke County and was robbed of some items there ... before being transported back to Bedford County," Edmondson said.

Doctors say a Massachusetts construction worker’s love of black licorice wound up costing him his life. Eating a bag and a half every day for a few weeks threw his nutrients out of whack and caused the 54-year-old man’s heart to stop, according to a report Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine. The problem is a substance found in black licorice and in many other foods and dietary supplements containing licorice root extract. Eating as little as 2 ounces of black licorice a day for two weeks could cause a heart rhythm problem, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns.

DETROIT A young woman was discovered to be alive after she had been declared dead and taken to a Detroit funeral home, officials said. The Southfield fire department said paramedics tried to revive the 20-year-old woman for 30 minutes Sunday. Our staff confirmed she was breathing" and called a Detroit emergency medical crew, the funeral home said. The woman was taken to a hospital, WDIV-TV and The Detroit News reported. We couldnt believe it, said Dave Fornell, deputy commissioner of the Detroit fire department, who added that her heart rate was 80.

DEL CITY, Okla. Oklahoma police have identified the two suspects who are believed to be responsible for a disturbance at a Sonic Drive-In in Del City that resulted in a glass door being shattered. Police say the incident started over the wrong sauce on an order of Sonic chicken tenders. The driver handed her food back to the Del City Sonic employee and pointed to the receipt after an exchange of words. They were upset over their order, said Maj. Mike Arterbury with the Del City Police Department. Security footage shows a manager tossing cash out of the drive-thru window and into their car.

A Florida team is selling people the ultimate baseball experience by putting their oceanview stadium up for rent on AirBnB for $1,500 a night. OGDEN, Utah – A Utah Highway Patrol trooper got a pint-sized surprise when he pulled over a 5-year-old driver who was swerving so badly he thought the driver needed medical attention. “I approached the vehicle and I was expecting to find somebody who needed an ambulance or paramedics," Morgan said. When asked, Morgan said Adrian told him he was going to his sister’s house — in California. The boy told another trooper that he wanted to buy a Lamborghini when he got there and then flashed open his wallet showing his cash to purchase his dream car: $3. On Tuesday, a local Lamborghini owner treated Adrian to rides up and down the street — with the boy in the passenger seat.

FORT MEYERS, Fla. – A worker at Florida's Gulf Coast Hospital in Fort Myers denies accusations he assaulted a patient by sucking her toes. Frantz Beldorin was arrested after the patient said she felt her right foot being touched around 11 p.m. on Monday. Then, the patient felt it happening a third time — this time she felt something wet between her toes. Later, the patient said Beldorin poked his head around the curtain and asked if she was okay. It’s a dark room with a dark male at the foot of her bed.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A drunk Florida woman smeared dog poop on her fiance’s face as they were arguing, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies said they were called to a residence on 46th Avenue North in St. Petersburg shortly before 9 p.m. Friday after someone reported Jane Marie Faulkner, 41, was “beating” another person. The victim said Faulkner was drunk and arguing and during the fight, she hit the victim and smeared dog feces on the victim’s face, according to the affidavit. Deputies said Faulkner admitted to smearing the poop but refused to provide further details about the altercation, records show. She was arrested on a domestic battery charge, according to WKMG.

WALTERBORO, S.C. – A woman whose hands were crushed while she was changing a tire on the side of an interstate in South Carolina managed to call for help using her toes. A jack holding up the car slipped while the woman was putting on the spare tire, causing the woman's hands to get stuck between the tire and the fender, the release said. Over the next 35 minutes, officials said the woman was able to slide off her shoe, manipulate her cell phone and call 911. Fire-rescue crews were nearby clearing the scene of another incident and arrived in less than 10 minutes, the release stated. The woman suffered severe injuries to both hands and all of her fingers, fire-rescue crews said.

FAIR HAVEN, VT – A dog has “announced” her bid to run for mayor of Fair Haven, Vermont. K-9 Sammy currently serves on the Fair Haven Police Department and has decided to put her hat into the mayoral race. The 6-year-old pure bread German shepherd is a rescue dog and is trained in tracking and drugs. Fair Haven has a town manager; the election of a pet as mayor is used as an annual fundraiser. In 2019, Lincoln, a goat, won the mayor’s seat by only three votes.

WACO, TX – The largest chocolate nut bar ever created was unveiled at the Mars Wrigley plant in Waco, Texas Thursday. The requirements for a chocolate nut bar to make it into the esteemed record book include: 80 percent chocolate and nuts and fit for human consumption. The chocolate nut bar had to weigh at least 220 pounds for the record. With the bar weighing in at 4,728 pounds, it's the biggest bar yet, proving everything is bigger in Texas. The company created the giant candy bar for the Super Bowl.

ASHEVILLE, NC – A couple in North Carolina is building an Airbnb “to rule them all.”Mike Parrish and his wife are building a ‘Hobbit Hole’ home based on the ones in the “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” books and movies. It includes a Hobbit Hole’s signature round wood door. “I’m not just a casual fan, I’m a huge fan," said Parrish. "We’re coming up with what we hope will be the coolest hobbit home on the east coast.”The hobbit hole home is expected to be finished in about two months. Parrish and his wife haven’t decided how much they’ll charge per night to stay there.

The deputies responded to reports of a man threatening his neighbors and a mailman. Body camera video shows the man, 75-year-old Walter Hopkins, meet them at the door of his home, holding a knife. The video shows Hopkins tried to attack them with the weapon. One deputy took out his taser, and as he pulled the trigger, Hopkins pulled out a cup of gasoline. The mix of gas and the taser caused Hopkins, the deputies, and the home to catch fire.
