APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. – A woman is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection to human remains that were found inside of a burned-out car in Appomattox County last week. According to the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office, the remains were found inside a burned-out vehicle on Wednesday morning near the intersection of Forbes Road and State Park Road, which is in the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest. The car was registered to a missing person, and the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office says it is working with the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office on that report. LYNCHBURG, Va. – Deputies with the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office are now helping deliver groceries and medicine. Sheriff Donald Simpson said it’s a new way to meet people they’ve never reached out to before. The new initiative only started a couple days ago and deputies have already received about a dozen calls. “The pharmacies they’re working closely with us to make sure to get that transaction part done. APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. – A father and twin daughter are dead, while a mother and the other twin daughter survived a house fire in Appomattox County early Friday morning, according to Virginia State Police. At 3:36 a.m., the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call about a house fire in the 18500 block of Richmond Highway (Route 460) in Pamplin. Police said a family of four was inside at the time of the fire, but only two people escaped. Tori Kidd and her 11-month-old daughter were taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Tori’s husband, Bradley Kidd, 24, and her other 11-month-old daughter were found dead inside the home, according to state police.
