More than 3,000 customers now without power in Southwest Virginia

Power restored to more than 1,400 customers in Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, Va. โ UPDATEPower has been restored Sunday afternoon, according to Appalachian Power. ORIGINAL STORYDue to a power outage, more than 1,400 Appalachian Power customers are impacted in Lynchburg Sunday afternoon. As of 1:44 p.m., Appalachian Power reports that 1,420 customers are without power. The Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services tweeted about a power outage in the Forest Ave and Graves Mill Rd. Any traffic intersections treat as a 4 way stop.
More than 1,300 customers without power in Lynchburg
LYNCHBURG, Va. โ Many people are without power in Lynchburg right now. Appalachian Power reports that 1,341 customers in the Hill City are being affected by an outage on Sunday afternoon. The outage began at 12:41 p.m. and the estimated restoration time is 9 p.m., according to the power company.
Potential for spotty power outages heading into Thanksgiving
Weโll be breezy all day Wednesday, with the stronger gusts arriving Wednesday evening into the first half of Thanksgiving. Downed limbs and spotty power outages will be possible. Weโre hopeful you donโt lose power, because it might take some time for crews to get things back to normal. While the wind decreases a bit Thanksgiving, it will still be pretty gusty at times. (The wind may also have a hand in the Macyโs Thanksgiving Day Parade.)
