The Salvation Army in Rockbridge County needs your help. Hundreds of children are registered for this yearโs angel tree program and the organization needs people to sign up and support them.
Agape Center serves triple the amount of Angel Tree children this year in New River Valley
This year, numbers for the Angel Tree the Agape Center NRV is serving have tripled. Christmas music, hot chocolate and hundreds of toys were spread out at the New River Valley Community Church as Agape Center NRV volunteers provide holiday cheer Saturday. A sad realization of current family struggles Kim Bowman, executive director of Agape Center NRV, said. Due to the pandemic, volunteers organized a toy collection drive-thru for families. Due to the growing need in the community, the Agape Center NRV is looking to expand into a new building by spring.
Salvation Armyโs Angel Tree registration moved online
The Salvation Army Angel Tree registration runs October 1-25, but the organization changed its process this year. Visit www.saangeltree.org to start the registration process. Salvation Army now accepting Angel Tree applications
ROANOKE, Va. - The Salvation Army is already starting the process of lending a helping hand for the holidays. Registration for Angel Tree applications for Christmas assistance started Wednesday. It's our responsibility to come alongside them and help them," Salvation Army Captain Jamie Clay said. You can register from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1 to 6 p.m. Oct. 9-11 and Oct. 14-18 at the Salvation Armys Dale Avenue location.
