Clouds will part by 11 AM but return around 9 PM tonight, ahead of another clipper system that could bring a few snow showers to the higher elevations and rain to the remainder of the area.

The good news is that once this line of heavy showers passes through, it will help clear the fog out, and we will see rapid clearing and gusty conditions to follow behind this front.

It has been a very rainy and gloomy day in Southwest Virginia! Although we haven’t had beautiful blue skies, the rain has at least kept us from worsening air quality issues.

It has been another rainy and stormy day! As of 6:02 this evening, a few scattered thunderstorms are still moving through the area.

With a very humid atmosphere and slow-moving upper-level winds, any storm that has developed the past few days has been a soaker. This pattern will continue into the next few days as well.
