Georgia Amoore put up 17 points and Virginia Tech posted a second straight win over a nationally-ranked opponent for the first time in program history, knocking off No. 23 North Carolina, 66-61 on Sunday afternoon. The Hokies (19-6, 11-3) knocked off No. 11 Georgia Tech, 73-63, Thursday and entered the game tied with No. 18 Notre Dame for third place in the ACC.

The Virginia Tech women beat Virginia on Thursday 71-42 in the final meeting of the Commonwealth Clash. Aisha Sheppard had 20 points, 15 of them from the three point line. Georgia Amoore finished with 21 points. The Hokies move to 7-2 in the ACC, 15-5 overall.

King’s career high 29 leads Hokies to initial ACC victory
BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team was down early and trailed by as many as 11, but regrouped at halftime and earned an 88-71 victory over Pitt Thursday night on Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum. The win moves the Hokies to 6-0 and 1-0 in the league.
