Grayson County’s football team continued their historic season with a strong 34-13 victory over Craig County in the region 1C semifinal.

Craig County hosted its first playoff game since 2010, and they had something to prove against Bath County on Friday.

George Wythe took on Narrows Friday night, two teams trending in different directions. The Green Wave won three straight heading into the night’s contest while the Maroons were coming off a loss at Giles.

Green Wave had an answer for everything the Rockets threw its way.

The Trojans charged their way to victory against Altavista on Saturday, winning 30-8 in the Class 1 Semifinal.

The Highlanders went up against Graham on Saturday in the Class 2 Semifinal. Graham ended up taking down Glenvar, 28-24.

Grayson County and Rye Cove shared a close game on Saturday for the Class 1 Semifinals. In the end, Grayson County took the win, 40-34.

Liberty Christian went up against William Byrd in the Class 3 Semifinals on Saturday. The Bulldogs took home the win against the Terriers, 49-14.

Alleghany came out on top tonight, with Garrett Via’s 4-year touchdown capping off a methodical opening drive and bringing the score to 7-0.

It was a quick lead and a strong offensive line that led the Knights to victory.

The Storm was victorious, with a final score of 40-7.

Friday night’s final score was 54-13 with the Mountaineers taking home the win.

This is always a big rivalry game, and Friday’s wasn’t short of a nail-biter.
