Ekh, Hokies roll past Marshall in first round of womenโs NCAA Tournament
Matilda Ekh scored 21 points to lead No. 13 Virginia Tech to a 92-49 victory over Marshall in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday. Ekh connected on 6 of 9 from the floor and hit five 3-pointers for the Hokies (25-7), who set a school record by winning their 26th consecutive game at Cassell Coliseum. Abby Beeman scored 12 points for Marshall (26-7), which saw its 10-game winning streak snapped.
Va Tech women headed to 1st Final Four after topping Ohio St

The loss drops the Hokies to 7-7 (2-7) ahead of a second clash with the Wolfpack this Thursday at Cassell Coliseum. The Wolfpack fought back in the second quarter and went into the locker room holding a 47-41 advantage at the half thanks to a 10-3 run in the closing minutes. Second-half run pushes Wake Forest past Virginia Tech women
BLACKSBURG, Va. โ Elizabeth Kitley recorded here eighth double-double of the season (18 points and 21 rebounds) on Sunday afternoon. But the Demon Deacons fought back for the 67-64, another disappointing loss for the Hokies. Wake Forest was led by Gina Conti who scored 18 points and Ivana Raca and Christina Morra who each tallied 17 points. It was a 14-2 run in the second half that wiped away the Hokiesโ 10 point lead. The Hokies are scheduled to be back at Cassell Coliseum on Thursday to host Notre Dame--their second meeting of the season with the Fighting Irish.

ATLANTA, Ga. โ Virginia Techโs starting five- Aisha Sheppard, Cayla King, Azana Baines, Asiah Jones and Elizabeth Kitley- combined for 44 points on Sunday but turnovers and mistakes kept the Hokies from snapping a 3-game losing streak. Aisha Sheppard tried to set the tone early with 12 first half points, finishing with 20. โI thought we left opportunities on the table where we didnโt capitalize,โ said head coach Kenny Brooks. โWeโre not playing together right now and weโre not trusting each other enough and itโs showing. Itโs showing at the worst time in the game.โโMinimize the mistakes that we make throughout the game because theyโre becoming repetitive because weโre seeing it in multiple different films, multiple different games itโs the same mistakes,โ said Hokies guard Aisha Sheppard.

Virginia Tech women roll to 92-57 win over George Washington
Virginia Tech started the game on a 13-0 run that featured back-to-back baskets from Georgia Amoore, on their way to a 92-57 victory. As a team, Virginia Tech made 16 triples, tying a Cassell Coliseum record. Elizabeth Kitley recorded her third double-double this season with 16 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 7-of-7 from the field. The Hokies bench scored 20 points, the best thus far on the season. Virginia Tech will be back in Cassell Coliseum on Friday to host a 2-0 Appalachian State team, tip-off slated for 4 p.m. on ACC Network.
Virginia Tech Women's Basketball win big in season opener
With the win, head coach Kenny Brooks moves to 4-0 in season openers at Tech. The Hokies tied several Cassell Coliseum records recording 105 points, 44 field goals and 28 assists. Tech tied a school record with 28 assists at Cassell Coliseum. NEXT TIME ON CARILION CLINIC COURTTech will return to Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum on Friday, November 15 at 7 PM on ACC Network Extra. Last season in Lynchburg, Tech earned a 72-61 victory over the Flames led by Dara Mabrey who scored 13 points in her first collegiate road game.
