28-year-old man arrested in connection with February murder in Pittsylvania County
On Friday, authorities said they arrested Daniel Neal, 28 years old, and are charging him with murder, entering a house with intent to commit murder, rape, robbery, or arson, and the use or display of a firearm in committing a felony.
Man convicted of killing Virginia police officer in 1979 released on parole
RICHMOND, Va. A man who served decades in prison for the killing of a Richmond police officer and whose parole grant sparked a still-ongoing investigation by Virginia's government watchdog agency has been released from prison. Vincent Martin, who had been held at the Nottoway Correctional Center, was released on parole, Virginia Parole Board chair Tonya Chapman told The Associated Press on Wednesday. State officials said a temporary hold had been placed due to an ongoing administrative investigation by the Office of the State Inspector General into the Virginia Parole Board. The April decision to grant Martin parole sparked an uproar in the law enforcement community, and both Connors' family and Richmond's top prosecutor asked the board to rescind its decision. Former parole board chair Adrianne Bennett, who recently left that role to become a judge, released a lengthy statement defending the board's decision to release Martin.

Patricia Ripley, 45, had claimed she was driving with her son Alejandro around 9 p.m. Ripley told police that one of the men got out and demanded drugs, according to officials. ET, Rundle told reporters. But just an hour later, Ripley allegedly brought Alejandro to a different canal. She faces charges of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder and premeditated murder, Rundle said.
New search warrant unsealed in Michael Brown case
ROANOKE, Va. – A search warrant is revealing new details about the case of a Marine accused of murdering his mother’s boyfriend in Franklin County. According to the warrant, investigators searched Rodney Brown’s bank statements from Jan. 1 to Nov. 21 last year. The warrant says the search also included copies of checks, wire transfers, deposits, IRA and CD accounts, life insurance policies, business resolutions and signature cards. Brown was found shot to death outside his girlfriend’s home Nov. 9. Michael Brown was arrested at the home after an 18-day nationwide manhunt.

ROANOKE, Va. – Search warrants reveal new details about the weeks-long nationwide manhunt for a marine, accused of killing his mother’s boyfriend in Franklin County. According to one search warrant, investigators collected 70 items from the RV officials believe Michael Brown was using. The search warrant also revealed the day before the RV was found, investigators talked to an “associate” who confirmed he had been with Michael Brown, but Brown left in an RV. Surveillance video from an area close to the associate’s location showed an RV pulling into a campground, pulling an enclosed trailer. Inside was a black Lincoln Town Car investigators believe Brown was using to get around.
'How to Get Away with Murder' to end with Season 6

Davis plugged the upcoming season on Twitter, and called the show one of "greatest rides" of her life. "Murder," which is executive produced by Nowalk, Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Stephen Cragg, became a hit for ABC when it premiered in fall 2014. It helped cement what the network dubbed its "TGIT" lineup, which also included Shondaland produced "Scandal" and "Grey's Anatomy." According to a release provided to CNN, the final season of "Murder" will focus on the class's last semester of law school and premieres Sept. 26.
