The stolen Saturn Vue ended up parking at the Sheetz in Daleville, according to Virginia State Police. BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – A 50-year-old Dublin man is in jail after police said he led them on a chase for about 30 miles on Friday. Eventually, Bedford police ended their pursuit and Virginia State Police took over. The chase went into Botetourt County and ended on U.S. 220 when Rakes ran over spike strips laid down by state police, according to state police. He was wanted in Bath County for the stolen vehicle and will face additional charges relating to the pursuit.

Sheetz announced Wednesday that it’s investing nearly $30 million in its employees. As part of that investment, nearly all of Sheetz’s 2,548 store employees in Virginia will see an increase of about $0.50 to $2 an hour on their paycheck, according to Sheetz PR manager Nick Ruffner. “Our employees are the heart and soul of this company,” said Sheetz President/COO Travis Sheetz. “Sheetz is committed to investing in our people and attracting and retaining top talent. ROANOKE Va. – There’s a large police and fire-EMS presence at a Roanoke Sheetz Thursday night. 10 News was on the scene and saw a man get loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher while in handcuffs. Shawnon Wray, 46, of Martinsville, was charged with public intoxication and possession of a schedule I/II narcotic, according to Roanoke police. Authorities said this is related to a narcotics investigation.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – UPDATEA person is hospitalized after a crash Thursday morning and no charges are being filed, according to police. At 6:48 a.m., Virginia State Police said they responded to a crash near the Sheetz on Wards Road. It was dark at the time of the crash and the driver was unable to avoid hitting the pedestrian, according to police. According to police, the pedestrian was taken to the airport by ambulance and then flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Sheetz is partnering with a Virginia-based brewery to release its first-ever beer. The beer, titled “Project Watt-Ahh-Melon Ring,” is limited edition and was brewed in partnership with Hardywood Park Craft Brewery based in Richmond. ROANOKE, Va. Crews responded to a fire at a laundromat in Roanoke on Wednesday night. It happened just before 8:30 p.m. on Peters Creek Road NW at the Peters Creek Laundromat next to Hardees, just up and across the street from Sheetz. Everyone inside safely evacuated and no one was hurt, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS. Roanoke Fire-EMS said the fire was ruled accidental and started in a dryer. Crews from Salem Fire-EMS assisted with the response.

ROANOKE, Va. – According to Roanoke City Police, two people were found with gunshot wounds in a car parked at the Sheetz gas station off of Williamson Road and Orange Ave in Roanoke Wednesday night. Police say the call came in just after 11 p.m.Police say the shooting did not happen at the Sheetz, but the car was driven there after. The two victims were taken to the hospital for their injuries. No word on the status of their injuries at this time. Anyone with any information is asked to call Roanoke police.

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. – An employee at the Sheetz store in Rocky Mount on Old Franklin Turnpike tested positive for COVID-19, the company announced Thursday. The store closed when company officials learned of the positive test result, according to Sheetz, and it will be professionally cleaned, sanitized and disinfected before reopening. Protests in Campbell County Protesters are in Campbell County, within walking distance of Lynchburg, which enacted a mandatory curfew tonight. Chick-fil-A submitted plans to build its 5th Lynchburg restaurant location on Timberlake Road across from Kroger. A 24/7 drive-thru Sheetz is set to open across from BB&T and Bojangles'. Thomas Builders is also planning a retail development featuring two 6,600 square foot multi-use commercial buildings. Construction started about two weeks ago, however it’s not clear when everything will be completed.

ROANOKE, Va. – Sheetz store employees will see a pay increase for longer than originally planned. The company announced Wednesday that it is extending the $3/hour pay increase for its nearly 17,000 store employees until June 4. The pay increase was announced in March and originally planned to last until April 23. The company said the pay increase is a way to show gratitude to its employees during the COVID-19 outbreak. “Sheetz is grateful for the dedication and commitment of its employees, who work 24/7/365, providing total customer focus, especially during these challenging times,” read a press release.

ROANOKE, Va. – Sheetz announced it will pay its store employees more as the coronavirus outbreak continues. According to the restaurant and convenience chain, around 17,000 workers in the Mid-Atlantic region will receive a temporary pay raise of $3 per hour from March 13 to April 23. You can apply here.
