CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. โ The Campbell County Sheriffโs Office continues its investigation into a home invasion and theft that happened on Monday near Leesville Road. On Tuesday, authorities announced the arrest of Erique Shelton Scottโs arrest in connection with the incident. Heโs charged with burglary, robbery and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Missing 75-year-old man found after search in Campbell County
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. - UPDATEBoyd was located safely, according to Virginia State Police. Authorities are searching for a missing 75-year-old Campbell County man. Authorities say he was reported to be driving a 2005 silver Toyota Tacoma with a dent on the tailgate and license plate WSP-2221. Boyd has a cognitive impairment and his disappearance poses a threat to his health and safety, according to Virginia State Police. The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is requesting the public's help to find Boyd.
Campbell County authorities search for men who robbed Family Dollar with a handsaw
GLADYS, Va. - Authorities in Campbell County say they are searching for two men who robbed a Family Dollar using a handsaw. Officials say the incident happened at the Family Dollar at 8438 Brookneal Highway in Gladys around 9 p.m. Tuesday. The two wanted men reportedly entered the store, one of them with a handsaw, and robbed the Family Dollar before running away with an undisclosed amount of money. Two missing teens found after extensive, week-long search in Campbell County and beyond
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. - After more than a week-long, extensive search, two Campbell County teens were found safe. The Sheriff's Office thanked the Bedford County Sheriff's Office and EMS personnel for their role in locating the 15-year-olds, but did not mention where the teens were found. Jacob Morris and Jasmyn Gordan were reported as runaways/missing persons on Sept. 17 by their families, according to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office. CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. - The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is still asking for help to find two missing 15-year-olds. After first seeking the public's help on Sept. 19, authorities again on Wednesday asked for assistance after Jacob Morris and Jasmyn Gordan were reported as runaway/missing person on Sept. 17 by their families, according to the Sheriff's Office. Jacob is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds, with black hair, hazel eyes and a birthmark on the left side of his face. The Sheriff's Office did not provide a description of Jasmyn. Man wanted after luggage stolen from Lynchburg airport
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. - Authorities are asking for help identifying a man shown on surveillance footage stealing luggage. A red dufflel bag and two black suitcases were stolen Friday at 3:30 p.m. from the Lynchburg Regional Airport, according to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office. Authorities also say the man was seen leaving the airport in a red Ford Econoline van. Social Security phone scam targeting people in our area
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. - The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is warning people about a social security phone scam targeting people in our area. They say they've received several reports of calls where scammers inform people that their Social Security numbers are being suspended because of suspicious activity. Scammers ask people to confirm their social security number over the phone, and some even say that peoples' bank accounts will be frozen if they don't withdraw cash, according to the sheriff's office. Authorities say the scammers are targeting cell phones and landlines. The sheriff's office is reminding people that law enforcement or government agencies will never call asking for money or threatening legal action.
Two vehicles stolen, several others broken into in Campbell County
CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. - The Campbell County Sheriff's Office is investigating several vehicle break-ins that happened late Wednesday night. The break-ins occurred in the 7000 blocks of Wards Road. Two vehicles were stolen but were later recovered after they were found abandoned at the intersection of Hawkins and Wards roads.
