Law enforcement is investigating a double homicide that occurred in Northwest Roanoke on Sunday morning, Roanoke Police Department said.
Three people were indicted for their alleged involvement in a 2022 homicide out of Henry County, Henry County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Danville Police Dept. has identified the suspect as 21-year-old Jaelynn Lowen. Lowen is charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is considered armed and dangerous.

BASSETT, Va. – Authorities continue searching for a person of interest after a man was shot and later died in Bassett on Friday night. They found Robert Williams, 39, of Bassett, who had been shot multiple times. Deputies performed life-saving measures but Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office is trying to find a person of interest, Douglas Gillespie, 25, of Bassett. ROANOKE, Va. – UPDATE 3/5/20Search warrants reveal that an alleged abduction in Vinton led law enforcement to a scene in Roanoke where they found two people dead. The documents say 42-year-old April Barnicoat and 44-year-old Eric Surface were found in different rooms of a house on Queen Anne Drive. Several neighbors said the victims — April Barnicoat, 42, of Roanoke, and Eric Surface, 44, of Salem — lived at the residence on the 1600 block of Queen Anne Drive SE where police found their bodies. LYNCHBURG, Va. – Lynchburg police have arrested another person in connection with a December homicide. Dakota Scott, 25, of Lynchburg, is charged with felony murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery in connection with 31-year-old Darius Saunders Jr.'s death, according to Lynchburg police. The homicide happened on Dec. 28 in the 600 block of Gum Street. 10 News previously reported that a 15-year-old was also charged in connection with Saunders Jr.'s death. The teen told officers that he shot Saunders Jr. in a drug deal gone wrong, in which an unknown person tried to rob him and he took a gun and shot the suspected robber, according to search warrants.
