HIDDEN VALLEY TITANS

The rising Hidden Valley junior is the reigning Class 3 Volleyball Player of the Year.

The first round of the Northside Invitational was underway Wednesday.

Hidden Valley and Glenvar both advance to the state semifinals on the volleyball court.

The Titans win Region 3D, Glenvar and Appomattox will play for the Region 2C crown.

Hidden Valley defeated Blacksburg 3-1 to secure the River Ridge District regular season and tournament titles.

The game’s final score was 41-7, Cougars.

The Titans hope to improve on a 7-win season with a more balanced offensive attack.

Southwest Virginia proved once again its dominance in spring competition, bringing home seven titles back to the area.

The scene is certainly set for a SW Virginia gold rush of state spring sports medals. No less than a dozen squads have advance to the state finals. Here’s a rundown of our local teams that were in action on State Semifinal Friday.

The Titans

Cave Spring beat Hidden Valley in boys soccer on Thursday, 5-0.

Hidden Valley had five spring athletes sign their National Letter of Intent Friday. Swimmer Meagan Baxley is off to Washington and Lee, Titan goalie Rio Jarrett is going to Concord University, and three lacrosse players are moving on. Landon Blackshear to Bridgewater, Tyler Duffey to Averett, and Connor McGarry to Pfeiffer University.

Salem beat Hidden Valley on Tuesday 13-5 at Kiwanis Field.

Hidden Valley Quarterback Sam Dragovich scored four times on his way to our Week 3 honor.

The Cavaliers pulled away from Hidden Valley in a non-District matchup.

Patrick Henry beat Hidden Valley 73-28.

On Wednesday, nearly a dozen area student athletes signed their National Letter of Intent for the early signing period.

Rustburg beat Hidden Valley in Class 3 State Semifinals, 3-2.

The Cavaliers beat 4-seed Hidden Valley 41-6.

The Titans sweep the Carroll Co. Cavaliers in 3 for the region crown.

Wednesday marked the fall signing day, meaning all athletes outside of football could sign their National Letter of Intent.

Hidden Valley beat Bassett Thursday 3-0, 25-13, 25-14, 25-9. Head Coach Carla Ponn earned her 501st win as well.

The Spartans are looking to make a deep playoff run and weren’t slowed down on Friday night.

It was a strong showing for Christiansburg in Roanoke County on Friday night.

On Friday night, the Patrick Henry Patriots beat the Hidden Valley Titans.

Hidden Valley beat Pulaski County, 28-20.

Hidden Valley downed Cave Spring in three games, 25-20, 25-14, and 25-16.

Nobody said it’s easy to be perfect.

Hidden Valley defended its home turf, winning over Glenvar in a close game with a score of 55-51.

Titans Faith Mitchell sets milestone as Hidden Valley blanks Salem.

Hidden Valley defeated Northside in Week 3 with a score of 42-7.

Hidden Valley won 3-1, 23-25, 29-27, 25-15, 25-10. Cam Davenport had 30 kills and 13 digs, Caleigh Ponn had 10 kills 15 digs, and Faith Mitchell had 26 assists.

Hidden Valley left no doubt on Friday night, beating William Byrd, 42-10.

The Titans volleyball team wants to take the final step after falling in the state semifinals in the spring season.

Three Titan soccer players signed college letters on Thursday.

The Rustburg Red Devils beat Hidden Valley Tuesday in the Class 3 Volleyball State Semifinals 3-1: 25-16, 27-25 (HV), 25-19, 25-21.

The Rockbridge County volleyball team claimed their fourth straight Valley District Tournament championship on Thursday, beating Spotswood 25-17, 25-12, 25-14.
